Reduced Travel Times: The new airport also aims to alleviate transportation challenges, congestion, and lengthy journeys to destinations like Tulum and Playa Del Carmen, which could take anywhere from 50 minutes to 2 or 3 hours. With the new airport, visitors to the central and southern parts of the state can save between 1 to 2 hours of travel time and avoid congestion on the southern exit of Cancun, which is often clogged with shopping centers, residential complexes, and other delays.
Increase in Tourist Flow
Higher Tourist Influx: The opening of this new airport is expected to increase air tourism to the area by 25%. Combined with connectivity to the Maya Train project, which aims to connect the Yucatan Peninsula’s most emblematic points, the region is set to experience significant growth, attracting a diverse range of customers, from luxury seekers to adventure tourists.
